When is orthodontic treatment necessary?
If you are plagued by the problems listed below, orthodontic treatment may be right for you:
Overbite. The upper teeth extend farther than the lower teeth. This is often the result of the lower jaw being too small. The front teeth can stick out significantly.
Under bite. The lower front teeth are in linear contact with the upper front teeth or they overlap the upper teeth in front.
Open bite. The molars are the only teeth that come in contact; even when the jaw is closed, there is a gap between the upper and lower front teeth.
Cross bite. The upper molars are inclined or positioned inward more than the lower molars.
Scissor bite. The upper molars are positioned outward or the lower molars are positioned inward in such a way that when the mouth is closed, they miss each other and overlap with no contact.
Tooth gaps due to the loss of teeth or teeth that do not fill out the dental arch.
Crowded teeth that do not fit into the dental arch.
Orthodontic treatment is one of the most important steps towards a beautiful, correct smile.
Orthodontic patients are usually children and adolescents, but there are an increasing number of adult patients receiving orthodontic treatment. Orthodontics is becoming a part of comprehensive care, as an auxiliary treatment before dental implants or prosthesis.
At VIC Clinic, some of the best orthodontic specialists in Lithuania provide consultation and treatment. Metal braces are the most common form of treatment, but we can also offer ceramic, self-ligating and lingual braces. Depending on the patient’s age and situation, correction can also be done with retainers and special orthodontic devices.
We only begin orthodontic treatment on heathy, clean teeth.
We recommend that during orthodontic treatment, patients see a dental hygienist every 4-6 months. During visits, patients receive professional cleaning as well as advice on how to care for their teeth and mouth.
Orthodontic treatment is not always quick and easy. In difficult situations, our entire team of doctors participates in the patient’s treatment.
